Mexico pics

So by now, you have all heared that Raul and I went to Mexico. Not exactly how we wanted to experience my first time there, but Raul wanted to show me some of the more important things. And I am glad that he took the time to show me these things. So these next 3 pics were in the airport when we were coming home.

These were a few clouds from the plane. We thought they were very cool looking

We took a gondola ride with Raul's family and we stopped to get a few pina coladas. They were delicious! From left to right...me, Raul's sister Juana, Juana's son Pepe, Raul's brother Manuel, Manuel's wife Angelica, and Mama Coco

I don't know what this building is called, but it was very pretty and it was next to the university of Mexico.
University of Mexico
This is the center of the City. This is where the President of Mexico stays when he is there.
A beautiful fountain
We ate here. Seriously. Everything in Mexico reminds me of Seven Mile Fair! And the food was soooo goooood!

Ok, these guys were on a bus waving their flags for their team...Pumas was playing I believe Chivas...Soccer. Well they all saw me standing there..me the whitey, and they stopped traffic just so I could take a picture of them!
A picture of all the gondolas! There were a ton to choose from!
Here's the group
Raul and I

This was a HUGE church that we got to go inside of and see a mass going on.

This is a huge portrait of The Virgin Guadalupe. I don't know all the details of who she is, I only know bits and peices of her, if you want to know the whole story, please leave a comment, and I will have Raul sit down with me and tell me her story to write for all of you.
Here is a pic of Raul overlooking the Cathedral
This is something that I have wanted to see for about 12 years now. It is a giant replica of the VIrgin Guadalupe and the Aztecs that came to see her and give her offerings. To see it in person was absolutely breathtaking!

Grieving

For those of you who don't know, we lost a member of our family on August 6th, 2008. Raul's older brother Gustavo was killed in a horrible car accident in Mexico. He left behind 3 beautiful daughters and a wife. He was to graduate that next day to becoming a lawyer. He was a professor at the University of Mexico, and an all around intelligent man. We left immediately to be with Raul's family in Mexico, and we returned on the 11th. It is extremely hard for Raul to be away from his Mom, brother, and sister at this time. All of your prayers for Raul and his family are very much appreciated. And for those of you who attended The Prayer for the Rosary here at the house this past week, we both thank you from the bottom our hearts. You don't knkow how much that meant to all of us. Gustavo will be greatly missed from all that knew him, and loved him.

Christian and the Watermelon

Daddy gave Christian a watermelon rind to eat....this is what we caught....he looks like a little cannibal on the trampoline!! He had no idea that we were taking pictures of him!

Update of the hole in the Living room

Ok, for those of you that don't know the story....I created this hole in the living room to put our new T.v. in. Only problem?....the T.V. didn't fit....and the one side just so happened to be a load bearing wall. Oops. Needless to say, Raul was not too happy with me, but the carpenter that he hired was! lol
Here's the finished product! All thanks to Jim!

Gabe's 4th Birthday Party

Thank you Melissa for making a beautiful fruit torte for Gabe!

Elmo got Decapitated, and poor Jairo tried to save him, but he got in the way of a mess load of kids and candy. Neither Elmo or Jairo had a chance!
Jairo, Mama Coco, and Sandee

Gabe with his Wall-E shirt!
Raul on the roof controlling the pinata
Gabe wacking Elmo
Gabe proudly wearing Elmo's head!
Guess who busted Elmo open?

Gabe was such a party animal! This is how he crashed onthe couch...notice the hot dog?! lol

Jairo graciously carried him to bed....
Hot dog and all! It's still there! In the picture of course...not 2 days later! lol
